The Situation: Jim Baskett, one of the five City Commissioners of Decatur Georgia, was running for re-election. He had been a City Commission since 1995, but he needed to reach out to more people. He already had a website, but it wasn't being listed on the major search engines like Google and Yahoo. Jim Baskett needed to get his message out to the people before the election occurred in November 2007. He also didn't want to have to pay a substantial fee for the "pay per click" solutions that most web companies employ to ensure high rankings in the search engines.
